Shellseekers

We are back from THE OMAN

Winter sun in a 5-star hotel - the Chedi Hotel, Muscat S&R February 2007

Arrival at Oman was very easy.  We were lucky as most people got off at Abu Dhabi so queue for visa was short.  For various reasons we couldn’t send our passports away earlier but it would have helped to have visa already stamped.  Oman Embassy very efficient in London apparently.

The hotel transfer worked very well and we enjoyed the Mercedes, cool towel and cold drink.  The only way to travel to the Chedi!

The Chedi Hotel

The hotel pools were wonderful, the beach very mediocre but we had fun in the sea.  Few tried the sea.  Did not have time for the Spa or tennis!

The food was fantastic!  We would go back just for the food – tried all the bars and restaurants and couldn’t fault any of them.  Lobster salad at Chedi pool…….!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially middle managers.  Room kept immaculate.  Cannot fault the staff.

Of course we were happy with Shellseekers.  Everything went as well as we hoped and we were definitely happy with your holiday recommendation.  We will come back again!  And, yes, we will recommend you to our friends!

E-mail feedback

We have had a WONDERFUL holiday in Oman and loved the Chedi – a real rest, fantastic food and only the odd sighting of children! I have just filled in your form and have said I will contact you by email about the room. As you know Ron paid little attention to the whole procedure so it is his problem not ours and at midnight having unpacked and not much idea of orientation, we didn’t complain which I suppose we should have immediately. I had presumed that Superior Serai meant just that but in their latest brochure Superior is no longer in it and they are just the Serai rooms which is the bottom of the scale! It also says that most Serai rooms have views of the sea or mountains – we had a view of the outside dining area roof and the building on the other side if this area. We were on the opposite side of the Serai block and up what always seemed to be a back staircase to 4 rooms. The room was not over large, only a queen bed, 2 drawers for clothes and open hanging space. Fortunately we spent little time in our room and on reflection should have gone for the De Luxe room which is 6 square metres larger and has a King size bed! They are also in a much nicer part of the hotel.

Please do not take this in anyway a criticism of you, we should have said something to them immediately and seen what they came up with and hopefully it will help when you advise other clients. We loved the Chedi and would certainly consider going back there again, it was so restful and peaceful, we just had big smiles on our faces!
