Budapest is a super city break at any time of year, but we also recommend exploring further afield. Why not spend a week in Hungary in the Spring or Autumn – there are castles and great historic houses to visit, beautiful countryside to explore, plenty of outdoor activities. Budapest has an increasing number of excellent hotels, from small boutique-style to larger, luxury hotels. Plenty of choice, whatever you like best.
Hungary is also the home of the spa and treatments are available in many of the hotels. The spa waters are historically used to cure many ailments and this is firmly believed by Hungarians and their European neighbours (who have been “taking the waters” for many years). Facilities tend to be clinical and efficient, rather than luxurious and pampering, but these treatments are terrific value for money.
