CARIBBEAN Costa Rica

Costa Rica is not strictly a "Caribbean" destination, as it has a larger Pacific coastline than that on the Caribbean side. However, it is a fascinating island and the eco system borrows from both coastlines.

Costa Rica is a paradise for anyone interested in nature in its purest and most fascinating form.

The variety of ecosystems and commitment to conservation mean that you can go from Caribbean beaches to cloud forests, with the odd volcano thrown in for good measure.

The choice of activities in Costa Rica is huge, for the active as well as those interested in nature and history.  This is an excellent place to surf, horse ride, hike or enjoy many water sports - or just relax and enjoy the warm hospitality.

Costa Rica represents excellent value for money and has hotels and lodges to suit most tastes.  We can tailor a Costa Rica itinerary to suit you - or have a look at our suggested tour.

When to go: The Caribbean coast is best visited between August and October, whilst the Pacific coast is more agreeable from December to April. Most visitors spend time in the central areas as well as on the coast, so choose the relaxation part of your holiday based on the above.
